Venison Sloppy Joe’s

Servings: 6 - 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 1 bell pepper diced
  • 1 cup celery finely diced
  • 1 pound ground venison
  • 1/3 pound ground beef - 20% fat
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 2/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • burger buns

Instructions

  • Heat oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Add onion, pepper and celery and cook until onions are translucent.
  • Mix venison and beef together and add to pan, breaking apart as it cooks. Once browned, stir in garlic powder, mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire and brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 25 - 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Spoon meat into buns and serve.
