Some barbecue sauces just aren’t that good on their own – but they are great when cooked with meats/fish. This one can do double-duty as both. It is from the former Peter B’s Freeport Inn, just south of Sacramento, California.

Peter B’s Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chili sauce
  • 2 cups tomato puree
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients and mix well. Warm over medium heat to blend flavors.
